Atlas Axillia PLC has launched Sri Lanka’s first Sri Lanka Standards (SLS) certified plastic water bottle, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to child safety, quality and innovation by offering parents a trusted and nationally certified hydration solution for children.
The launch marks a significant milestone at a time when product safety, quality assurance and consumer protection are receiving increased attention across Sri Lanka. The Atlas water bottle has successfully obtained certification from the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) following a rigorous assessment process, which included comprehensive product testing and compliance with the country’s newly introduced national standard for plastic water bottles.
The official launch ceremony, held at Cinnamon Grand Colombo, brought together representatives from regulatory authorities, healthcare professionals, industry experts, media organisations and the Atlas leadership team to discuss the growing importance of certified products, national quality standards and informed consumer choices.
Speaking at the event, Atlas Axillia Director – Sales & Operations Indrajith Binduhewa said the company’s product development philosophy has always centred on the wellbeing of children. He noted that becoming the first brand in Sri Lanka to secure SLS certification for a water bottle reflects Atlas’ commitment to setting higher industry standards while providing parents with greater confidence in the products their children use every day.
Atlas Axillia General Manager – Marketing Kasuni Bandara said the company has earned the trust of generations of Sri Lankan families and that the new certified water bottle further strengthens that relationship. She expressed hope that the milestone would encourage greater public awareness of certified products while enabling parents to make safer and more informed purchasing decisions.
The event also featured an expert panel discussion highlighting the importance of certification, quality standards and consumer awareness in enhancing product safety and protecting children and families.
