Commercial Bank Crosses Billion-Dollar Market Capitalisation

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC has become the first Sri Lankan bank to achieve a market capitalisation exceeding US$ 1 billion, celebrated with a ceremonial bell ringing at the Colombo Stock Exchange. Chairman Sharhan Muhseen said the milestone enhances the Bank’s visibility in global capital markets and strengthens investor confidence. CEO Sanath Manatunge noted it reflects Commercial Bank’s resilience, innovation, and sustainable growth. The Bank is now among only three Sri Lankan companies to surpass this threshold.
