Sasidevi Jaladeepan Appointed First Female Registrar General of Sri Lanka

Sasidevi Jaladeepan has been appointed as the new Registrar General of Sri Lanka, effective 26 August 2025, becoming the first woman to hold the post. A member of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service since 2003, she has served as Divisional Secretary of Trincomalee and Dimbulagala, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration, and Senior Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of National Policies. The Registrar General’s Department oversees registrations of births, deaths, marriages, and property documents.
