Central Bank Highlights Value of PMI Insights for Economic Policy

The Central Bank underscored its commitment to data driven analysis and stakeholder engagement as central to economic stewardship at a networking session on 19 August 2025.

Convened by the Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the session brought together participants of the Purchasing Managers’ Index Survey. Chaired by the Governor, Dr Nandalal Weerasinghe,the forum assembled industry experts from the manufacturing, services, and construction sectors to exchange insights, strengthen collaboration, and review recent survey developments. The event highlighted the PMI’s role as a leading economic indicator while acknowledging the vital contributions of survey respondents.
