Published on

Diplomats, investors, financiers, developers and business leaders gathered in Malé for the RIUNIT Investor Forum: Maldives 2026, creating a regional platform for dialogue on investment opportunities, real estate, finance and economic development.

Held on 11 August at JEN Maldives Malé by Shangri La, the forum focused on the question of where the next wave of growth in emerging Asia could originate. Discussions examined regional investment opportunities, evolving real estate demand in the Maldives and the broader factors influencing investment decisions across emerging markets.

The event brought together stakeholders from different areas of the investment ecosystem, encouraging dialogue between financial institutions, developers, investors and business decision makers. Organisations associated with the forum included Maldives Islamic Bank, Amana Takaful, Home Lands Holding, Housing Development Finance Corporation and the Maldives Capacity Development and Governance Institute.

Darrall Roshan Madawela, Founder and CEO of RIUNIT, was among the key figures involved in the forum. His participation reflected RIUNIT’s expanding regional engagement and its focus on connecting research intelligence with investment strategy and market opportunities.

The gathering also provided opportunities for high level networking and discussions around financial innovation, strategic partnerships and potential cross border collaboration.

As emerging Asian economies seek new sources of capital and sustainable growth, platforms such as the RIUNIT Investor Forum are increasingly important in connecting investors with market intelligence and potential opportunities.

The Maldives forum further highlighted the growing importance of regional cooperation in identifying investment prospects and strengthening business connections across South Asia and the wider Asian region.
