Suren Rajakarier has assumed duties as Managing Partner of KPMG Sri Lanka and its Maldives practice with effect from 1 April 2026, marking a significant leadership transition within the firm.
Rajakarier previously served as Chief Operating Officer and led the audit practice for nearly two decades. With over 38 years of experience in audit and assurance, he has worked extensively with multinational corporations and leading Sri Lankan organisations across diverse industries. Recognised as an accredited IFRS partner in Sri Lanka, he has led numerous complex financial reporting, advisory, and due diligence engagements.
His career includes involvement in landmark transactions such as the strategic partnership of Sri Lanka Telecom with NTTI of Japan and key privatisation initiatives. He has also served as audit partner for major state institutions including Bank of Ceylon and Ceylon Electricity Board.
Rajakarier succeeds Priyanka Jayathilake, who strengthened the firm’s advisory and technology capabilities during his tenure.
