Colombo Dockyard PLC has signed its largest-ever shipbuilding contract with France’s Orange Marine to construct two state-of-the-art cable laying and repair vessels. The signing ceremony in Colombo was attended by Orange Marine President and CEO Didier Dillard, Ships Technical Director Emmanuel Décugis, French Ambassador Rémi Lambert, Deputy Head of Mission Matthieu John, and Economic Counsellor Philippe Fouet. Representing CDPLC were Managing Director and CEO Thimira S. Godakumbura, Director and CFO Gihan Ravinatha, AGM (Projects Development) Sanjeewa Jayathilake, and Head of Shipbuilding Marketing Prince Lye. The vessels, designed by Vard Design AS Norway, will meet Bureau Veritas standards.
