Published on

Union Bank has marked a significant milestone for the Union Bank School of Social Entrepreneurship with the inauguration of the National Entrepreneurship Development Programme.

As academic activities for 2025 commence, Union Bank takes the lead as the first to launch this pioneering initiative in partnership with the University of Moratuwa (UoM) and the National Innovation Agency (NIA).

Following a nationwide call for applications in December 2024, 200 shortlisted students, current business owners, and aspiring entrepreneurs with innovative start-up ideas were enrolled in the programme and attended the event.

The programme, which combines online lectures and workshops, offers a comprehensive course designed to develop essential business acumen. This landmark event signifies the start of a transformative journey aimed at upskilling business owners and nurturing budding entrepreneurs.

A key highlight of the event was the participation of Union Bank customers, who shared their inspiring entrepreneurial journeys, adding immense value to the initiative.

Together, Union Bank, UoM, and NIA are championing entrepreneurship, driving innovation, and paving the way for a brighter future for Sri Lanka.
