Thailand’s BOI Partners with Citi to Boost Foreign Investment

Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI) has entered into a strategic partnership with Citi Thailand to accelerate foreign direct investment and reinforce the country’s standing as one of Southeast Asia’s leading investment destinations.

The collaboration will leverage Citi’s extensive international network across more than 180 countries and territories to connect high quality global investors with investment opportunities in Thailand’s priority sectors. The partnership will also include joint investment roadshows in key international markets and comprehensive financial solutions to support multinational companies establishing operations in the country. According to the Bangkok Post, in a report by Tera FM, the initiative is designed to strengthen Thailand’s long term economic growth by attracting strategic foreign investment and enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors. The partnership reflects Thailand’s continued efforts to position itself as a premier destination for international investors amid intensifying regional competition. (tera.fm)

Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment, said Thailand continues to benefit from its strategic location, strong infrastructure, skilled workforce and competitive investment incentives. He noted that closer collaboration with Citi will further enhance the country’s ability to attract investment into strategic industries including biotechnology, advanced electronics, semiconductors, automotive manufacturing, digital technology, aerospace, renewable energy and humanoid robotics. Amol Gupte, Asia South Cluster and Banking Head at Citi, said the bank is committed to supporting multinational corporations as they expand into Thailand, while Narumon Chivangkur, Citi Country Officer and Banking Head for Thailand, emphasised that the partnership would also promote technology transfer, talent development and sustainable economic growth.

The agreement is expected to strengthen Thailand’s competitiveness as a regional investment hub while supporting innovation, industrial development and long term economic resilience.
