Sunshine Holdings Welcomes Shyam Sathasivam as New Group CEO

Sunshine Holdings PLC has appointed Shyam Sathasivam as its Group Chief Executive Officer. Shyam, with over 21 years of corporate experience, previously held the position of Managing Director for subsidiaries Sunshine Healthcare Lanka Ltd. and Sunshine Consumer Lanka Ltd.

He brings leadership skills and expertise in the healthcare and consumer sectors. Shyam, a committee member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and former president of the Sri Lanka Chamber of Pharmaceutical Industry, started his career at Arthur Andersen, UK, and joined SUN in 2005.

His appointment aligns with the group’s diversified portfolio and is expected to contribute to its continued success and growth.

Vish Govindasamy, the incumbent Group MD, expressed enthusiasm for Shyam’s appointment, citing his deep understanding of the business and strategic vision. The succession was well-planned, with Shyam leading the group’s transformation since 2009. Sunshine Holdings PLC, now a publicly listed conglomerate, aims to be the “Most Admired Conglomerate in Sri Lanka.” The group, established over 56 years ago, encompasses leading brands like Zesta Tea, Watawala Tea, Ran Kahata, Daintee, Milady, and Healthguard Pharmacy, with nearly 2,000 employees and revenue of LKR 51 billion.

The diversified company focuses on healthcare, consumer sectors, and strategic investments in agribusiness.
