Strengthening Ties: Women Entrepreneurship Event Highlights Malaysia-Sri Lanka Synergies

The “Women Entrepreneurship & Networking” event in Colombo, organised by the Sri Lanka Malaysia Business Council (SLMBC) in collaboration with Apex Endeavour Sdn Bhd, was a landmark event promoting women entrepreneurs in Malaysia and Sri Lanka. The event brought together business leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs, fostering future collaborations and market expansions between the two nations.

Ms. Eng.Chow Pui Hee, Group Managing Director of Samaiden Group Berhad, delivered a keynote address emphasising the critical role of women in sustainable business practices and the importance of cross-border partnerships. Her address highlighted Samaiden’s commitment to sustainability and gender empowerment, with a focus on the engineering and construction of solar photovoltaic systems.

Gruppe Lighting Solution Sdn Bhd also played a key role in the event, showcasing their innovative, eco-friendly lighting solutions aimed at reducing ecological footprints. Their strategic collaboration with Apex Endeavour represents a significant step toward entering the Sri Lankan market.

The event was inaugurated by H.E. Badli Hisham Adam, High Commissioner of Malaysia, who emphasised the importance of strong bilateral relationships between Malaysia and Sri Lanka. M HK M Hameez, President of SLMBC, also addressed the gathering, reaffirming the Council’s commitment to promoting joint ventures in trade, tourism, and services between the two countries.

Overall, the event underscored the growing potential for collaboration, with a focus on empowering women entrepreneurs to contribute to the economic growth of both nations.
