SLINTEC Earns Global Accreditation for Food Safety Testing

Published on

The Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology (SLINTEC) has achieved a significant milestone with its Advanced Analytical Services Laboratory receiving ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation from the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board. This internationally recognised standard confirms the laboratory’s competence in delivering critical food safety tests, including aflatoxin testing, phthalate detection, and nutritional analysis for front of pack labelling. These services are vital for agri food producers aiming to comply with stringent local and international regulations across markets such as the European Union, United States, and Middle East.

By offering reliable results with faster turnaround times and reduced costs, SLINTEC provides manufacturers and exporters with a trusted local partner. The accreditation also strengthens Sri Lanka’s competitiveness at a time when food and beverage exports contribute significantly to national earnings. SLINTEC’s achievement is not only a step towards compliance but also a strategic boost for the country’s innovation ecosystem and global trade ambitions.
