Siyapatha Finance Strengthens Climate Accountability with Independent GHG Verification

Published on

Siyapatha Finance PLC has received a Greenhouse Gas Verification Opinion from the Sri Lanka Climate Fund following an independent assessment of its organisational emissions statement for 2025.

The opinion was presented at the Certificate Awarding Ceremony 2026, organised by the Fund at the Ministry of Environment’s Main Auditorium on 24 September 2026. The event recognised organisations undertaking emissions measurement and verification to strengthen their environmental practices.

The company’s statement was assessed against ISO 14064-1:2018 and the GHG Protocol, with verification conducted in accordance with ISO 14064-3:2019. It covers business activities under Siyapatha Finance’s operational control, providing independent assurance of its reported greenhouse gas emissions.

The Sri Lanka Climate Fund explains that greenhouse gas inventories establish a baseline for assessing future reduction goals and initiatives. Verification also supports informed decision-making, giving organisations a basis for evaluating their environmental performance and communicating emissions information to stakeholders.

For Siyapatha Finance, the exercise supports efforts to understand its environmental footprint, identify opportunities to reduce emissions and establish climate targets.

The company said its sustainability programme incorporates energy conservation, emissions management, sustainable finance, environmental awareness and responsible resource consumption.

It has also been integrating environmental considerations into operational decisions, while continuing to support customers and communities through sustainable financial solutions.

The verified statement strengthens the company’s approach to environmental accountability by providing a foundation for systematic measurement and reporting.

Siyapatha Finance said it would continue embedding sustainability into its operations and business practices, with the aim of contributing to a more resilient future for stakeholders.
