Seylan Bank PLC has surpassed Rs. 1 trillion in total assets, becoming the fourth private sector bank in Sri Lanka to reach the milestone. The Bank achieved the landmark in September 2026, reflecting its expanding scale and growth.

The achievement underlines the trust placed in Seylan Bank by its customers and the contribution of its employees, while reinforcing its role in meeting everyday financial needs.

Director and Chief Executive Officer Ramesh Jayasekara said the milestone reflected employees’ dedication and their focus on delivering customer value. He emphasised that the Bank’s customer-centric approach remained fundamental to its operations and expressed gratitude for customers’ confidence.

Jayasekara said Seylan Bank would build on its growth while strengthening the value it provides to customers.

The asset milestone follows the Bank’s success at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026, where it was named Sri Lanka’s Best Bank for Customer Experience and Sri Lanka’s Best Bank for SMEs.

Seylan retained the customer experience title for a second consecutive year, having first secured the recognition in 2025.

The dual awards highlight complementary priorities within the Bank’s strategy: making banking more seamless and accessible, while supporting small and medium enterprises through specialised financial and non-financial assistance.

Together, the asset milestone and international recognition mark another step in Seylan Bank’s development, combining greater scale with an emphasis on customer service and enterprise support.

The Bank’s progress reflects the collective contribution of its workforce and customers, with customer relationships remaining central to its approach as it enters its next growth phase.
