Samsung Marks 20 Years as World’s No.1 TV Brand

Published on

Samsung Electronics has been recognised as the world’s No.1 TV brand for the 20th consecutive year, a milestone celebrated by Samsung Sri Lanka as a testament to sustained global leadership and innovation.

According to market research firm Omdia, Samsung retained its top position in 2025 with a 29.1% share of the global television market by revenue, marking two decades of dominance since first achieving the ranking in 2006.

Samsung’s leadership has been driven by continuous technological breakthroughs, including the introduction of LED TVs in 2009, Smart TVs in 2011, and QLED technology in 2017. The company has also redefined television design with lifestyle models such as The Frame and The Serif, while advancing premium viewing experiences through 8K and MICRO LED innovations.

In the premium segment, Samsung maintained a commanding position in 2025, capturing over half the global market for high-end televisions. Its latest developments focus on AI-powered enhancements, enabling real-time optimisation of picture quality and sound for a more immersive viewing experience.

Samsung Sri Lanka stated that local consumers continue to benefit from these global innovations, with a diverse portfolio spanning Neo QLED, OLED, and AI-enabled smart televisions tailored to evolving lifestyle needs.
