Regulators Call for Stronger Due Diligence to Enhance Sri Lanka Listing Process

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka together with the Colombo Stock Exchange conducted an awareness session for Corporate Finance Advisers aimed at improving regulatory compliance and strengthening the listing framework. Addressing participants, SEC Chairman D B P H Dissabandara emphasised the gatekeeping role advisers play in safeguarding investor confidence through rigorous screening and due diligence. CSE Chief Executive Officer Rajeeva Bandaranaike highlighted collaboration as key to improving listing efficiency and preventing post listing issues. The session outlined enhanced disclosure standards, enforcement expectations, and future initiatives including digital listing processes, underscoring a shared commitment to a transparent and credible capital market.
