Prof Ajantha Samarakoon Appointed Chairman of People’s Leasing & Finance PLC

Effective 31st December 2024, Prof. Ajantha Samarakoon has been appointed as the new Chairman of People’s Leasing & Finance PLC, following approval from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

Prof. Samarakoon brings extensive knowledge and leadership experience, backed by a distinguished career spanning academia, industry, and public service. He is currently a professor at the University of Kelaniya and holds degrees in Commerce and Financial Management, as well as a PhD from Tomas Bata University in the Czech Republic. His expertise is further enhanced by his active participation in international conferences and memberships with CMA Australia and the Association of Accounting Technicians in Sri Lanka.

With a strong background in financial governance and notable contributions to education and curriculum development, Prof. Samarakoon is well-positioned to guide People’s Leasing & Finance PLC into a new era of growth, innovation, and excel
