Pan Asia Bank Crosses Rs. 350 Billion in Assets as Half Year Profit Rises 16%

Pan Asia Banking Corporation PLC recorded a strong performance for the six months ended 30 June 2026, with Profit After Tax rising 16% year on year to Rs. 2.5 billion as its total asset base surpassed Rs. 350 billion for the first time in its 31 year history.

Total assets increased 15% to Rs. 354.03 billion, while gross loans and advances grew 14% to Rs. 248.13 billion. Customer deposits expanded 17% to Rs. 271.24 billion, reflecting sustained momentum across the Bank’s operations.

Net Interest Income increased 13% to Rs. 7.07 billion, supported by expansion in loans and advances. Net fee and commission income also recorded strong growth, driven by credit expansion, increased card usage, trade related business and remittance inflows.

Asset quality strengthened during the period, with the Gross Stage 3 Loan Ratio improving to 3.97% from 4.62%, while the Net Stage 3 Loan Ratio improved to 1.39% from 1.73%.

Commenting on the results, Chairman B. D. A. Perera said the performance reflected strong business fundamentals, disciplined strategy execution and continued customer and stakeholder confidence. Director and CEO Naleen Edirisinghe said growth across core banking businesses, healthy net interest earnings and fee based income supported the Bank’s financial performance.

Looking ahead, Pan Asia Bank is focusing on quality asset growth, profitability, productivity, revenue diversification and digital innovation while maintaining strong capital and liquidity buffers.
