Pan Asia Bank has announced the appointment of B. D. A. Perera as its new Chairman and Ayodhya Iddawela Perera as Deputy Chairperson, with both appointments taking effect from 3 August 2026. The leadership changes mark a significant milestone for the bank as it continues to strengthen its corporate governance and strategic direction.
B. D. A. Perera succeeds Aravinda Perera, who served as Chairman for nine years. Having joined the Pan Asia Bank Board in April 2021, he previously held the positions of Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director. With more than two decades of experience in leasing and financial services, he currently serves as Executive Director of L. B. Finance PLC and its Myanmar subsidiary. His career has also included senior leadership roles at Commercial Leasing Company Ltd, Lanka ORIX Leasing Company PLC and Merchant Bank Bangladesh.
An Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in the United Kingdom, Perera holds a Special Degree in Business Administration from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and has completed the High Potentials Leadership Programme at Harvard Business School.
Ayodhya Iddawela Perera joined the Pan Asia Bank Board as an Independent Non Executive Director in April 2026. She brings more than 36 years of local and international banking experience, having most recently served as Managing Director of Sampath Bank PLC. Her governance expertise extends across several financial sector institutions, including LankaPay, the Lanka Financial Services Bureau and the National Credit Guarantee Institution.
