New MELS Automobiles CEO Explores Stronger German Sri Lankan Business Collaboration with AHK Sri Lanka

Anushka Polonowita, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of MELS Automobiles Ltd, the authorised importer of BMW in Sri Lanka, paid a courtesy visit to the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka), signalling a shared commitment to strengthening German Sri Lankan business and investment relations.

Polonowita was accompanied by Melwin Perera during the visit, where they met with Martin Klose, Chief Delegate of AHK Sri Lanka, and Malintha Gajanayake, Head of Corporate Affairs. The discussions focused on the evolving dynamics of Sri Lanka’s automotive industry and opportunities to deepen collaboration between German and Sri Lankan businesses.

The meeting provided a valuable platform to exchange views on the future of the automotive sector, innovation, sustainable mobility, and the importance of fostering stronger commercial partnerships. The engagement also highlighted the role of international business cooperation in supporting investment, technology transfer, and industry development within Sri Lanka.

As the authorised importer of BMW, MELS Automobiles continues to play a significant role in bringing premium German automotive engineering to the Sri Lankan market. Under the leadership of Anushka Polonowita, the company is expected to further strengthen its market presence while exploring new opportunities for growth and customer engagement.
