Published on

NDB Bank marked International Women’s Day by organising the Araliya Medical Camp, a special initiative aimed at supporting women’s health and well-being. Held on March 8 at the Bank’s premises, the event gathered around 200 Araliya Women’s Account holders and provided them with essential healthcare services in collaboration with leading medical partners.

Comprehensive Healthcare Services

The Araliya Medical Camp featured free medical screenings, eye examinations, and wellness guidance, reinforcing the Bank’s commitment to empowering women.
• Ninewells Hospital conducted full medical screenings, including laboratory tests for blood sugar, cholesterol, iron levels, liver function, and kidney health. Participants also received doctor consultations for further medical advice.
• Vision Care provided eye examinations, ensuring early detection of vision issues.
• Fonterra’s Anlene brand offered adult nutrition counseling, focusing on bone health and overall wellness.
• Link Natural Products introduced its Sudantha toothpaste and provided dental awareness sessions and free check-ups.
• Hemas, through its Kumarika range, conducted haircare awareness programs, product sampling, and mobile salon services.

Commitment to Women’s Empowerment

Speaking at the event, Ishani Palliyaguru, Vice President – Wholesale Banking at NDB, highlighted the Bank’s dedication to addressing the unique needs of women. She emphasised that by providing accessible healthcare and well-being services, NDB aims to uplift women in all aspects of life.

As part of this initiative, long-standing Araliya account holders (those with accounts for over five years) were offered subsidised medical tests throughout the year, further demonstrating NDB’s commitment to women’s overall well-being beyond financial support.

NDB Bank’s Role in Financial and Social Development

NDB Bank, Sri Lanka’s fourth-largest listed commercial bank, continues to strengthen its position as a leading financial institution. Recognised as Sri Lanka’s Best Bank for Corporates (Euromoney Awards 2024) and Domestic Retail Bank of the Year (Asian Banking and Finance Magazine 2024), NDB remains dedicated to empowering individuals and businesses. Through innovative financial and advisory services, as well as meaningful social initiatives like the Araliya Medical Camp, NDB reaffirms its mission to support the nation’s progress.
