Mukesh Ambani and Jensen Huang Outline Vision for India as a Global AI Leader

At NVIDIA AI Summit 2024 in Mumbai, India, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, outlined an ambitious vision for the country’s role in artificial intelligence. Speaking alongside NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, Ambani emphasized that India’s young population, extensive digital connectivity, and partnerships with global tech leaders provide a solid foundation for it to become a leader in AI innovation.

Ambani highlighted India’s unique advantage with an average age under 35 among its 1.4 billion people, creating a demographic ready to embrace AI-driven aspirations. He credited Jio’s connectivity as a key enabler of India’s digital revolution, making it one of the most connected countries globally.

Huang praised India’s IT expertise, noting that NVIDIA has upskilled 200,000 professionals and employs over 10,000 engineers in the country. Both leaders expressed a shared goal to turn India into a hub for AI and deep-tech advancements, with Huang citing the combination of AI technology, data, and a large user base as the “AI flywheel” India needs.

Concluding, Ambani and Huang affirmed their commitment to leveraging AI for a more equitable world, with Ambani predicting that India will soon surprise the world with its achievements in the AI sector.
