LG Electronics Ranked Among World’s Top 1% for Sustainability Performance

Published on

LG Electronics has been recognised among the top 1% of companies globally in the latest Corporate Sustainability Assessment conducted by S&P Global, marking its third consecutive year in this elite category and reinforcing its leadership in environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices.

Out of 9,243 companies evaluated worldwide, only 70 achieved top-tier status, including just two from South Korea. LG Electronics secured an impressive score of 77, the highest within the household durables and leisure products industry.

The company’s strong ESG performance also earned it a place in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices for the 14th consecutive year, a benchmark tracking organisations ranked in the top 10% globally.

LG Electronics received recognition across key sustainability pillars, including environmental policy, human rights, customer relations, supply chain management, and product responsibility. Its achievements are further validated by an AA rating from MSCI ESG Ratings, a Platinum rating from EcoVadis, and a low-risk classification by Sustainalytics.

Looking ahead, LG Electronics has committed to transitioning 100% of its global electricity usage to renewable energy by 2050, while advancing initiatives such as recycled plastics and eco-friendly packaging solutions—demonstrating a clear pathway towards long-term sustainable growth.
