TikTok’s Q2 2024 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report highlights its ongoing efforts to maintain a safe digital space. From April to June 2024, TikTok removed 178.8 million videos, around 1% of all uploaded content. Of these, 144.4 million were detected and removed by automated systems, with a proactive removal rate of 98.2%. The majority of flagged content (93.5%) was taken down within 24 hours, showcasing the platform’s efficiency in addressing harmful material.
The report reveals that 31% of removed videos contained sensitive or mature themes, 15.1% breached safety standards, and 4.7% violated privacy guidelines. TikTok’s moderation systems have also improved, with a 50% reduction in reinstated videos.
