Indian Banks Allowed to Offer INR Loans to Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Nepal

The Reserve Bank of India has amended regulations to allow Indian banks and their overseas branches to extend loans in Indian rupees to banks and individuals in Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Nepal. According to the Indian High Commission in Colombo, the move aims to enhance regional trade and reduce exchange rate risks.
