The Institute of Environmental Professionals Sri Lanka (IEPSL) will host a corporate dialogue titled “Preparing for the Upcoming El Niño: Strengthening Business Resilience and Climate Preparedness in Sri Lanka” on 3 September 2026 at The Grand Maitland, Colombo 7.
The event, commencing at 3.30 p.m., is designed to help Sri Lankan organisations understand emerging climate related risks and strengthen their preparedness for the potential effects of El Niño.
Bringing together corporate representatives and environmental experts, the dialogue will examine how changing climate conditions could affect business operations, agriculture, water resources and food security. It will also explore practical approaches organisations can adopt to improve resilience and manage climate related uncertainties.
As climate variability increasingly influences supply chains, agricultural production, resource availability and operational continuity, businesses are being encouraged to incorporate climate preparedness into strategic planning and risk management. The dialogue is expected to provide participants with expert perspectives and a platform to consider how organisations can respond proactively to evolving environmental challenges.
Corporate registration is LKR 10,000 per organisation and includes participation for one representative at the venue together with unlimited online access for members of the organisation’s team.
Corporate registrations are due on or before 18 August 2026, while physical participation will be subject to limited seating.
For further information, organisations may contact Sandun Jayasuriya of IEPSL on 076 9044126 or 011 3084268.
The initiative reflects IEPSL’s continuing focus on strengthening environmental awareness and encouraging businesses to integrate climate resilience into corporate decision making.
