In an interview with Global CEO Magazine, Mr. Chandru Sandrasekaran proudly highlighted the Cardiff Metropolitan MBA programme at ICBT as the largest MBA faculty in Sri Lanka. This distinction underscores the programme prominent role in shaping business leaders and its commitment to providing a comprehensive and impactful education.

Q: What distinguishes the Cardiff Metropolitan MBA program at ICBT as one of the leading MBA programs in Sri Lanka?

Yes, the Cardiff Metropolitan MBA at ICBT campus is one of the leading programmes in the country at the moment.

We can proudly say it is the largest MBA faculty in the private sector as well as if you compare with the state sector as well, we are the largest faculty in the country at the moment.

The programme itself is a very rounded program. It has the basic fundamentals of all the core functionality of the business industries,.

you know, requirement, such as marketing, finance, operations management, project management, research methodology. So, you know, it gives you the overall view about the business requirement from a CEO’s point of view.

That is what we aim for. Further, the programme has the specialisations.

Q: Can you detail the core subjects and specialisations offered in the Cardiff Metropolitan MBA programme and their relevance to the current business environment?

One of the largest portfolios we have, includes areas such as supply chain and logistics, which we believe will be a very big industry in Sri Lanka in time to come. We also offer finance, marketing, project management, and business analytics. I can’t emphasise the importance of business analytics in modern industries. We understand the students better than institutions, I would say, because our students are coming with various commitments, isn’t it? They have family commitments and are responsible executives in organisations trying to advance to the next level. Some students are also exploring migration options and international opportunities.

Q: How does the Cardiff Metropolitan MBA programme support students with various commitments and career objectives, including those seeking international opportunities?

As a global MBA programme , we offer flexible solutions to accommodate students’ diverse needs and career goals. Our programme is designed to support students with family and professional commitments, as well as those looking for international opportunities. We provide guidance on academic skills, including facing assessments, successfully writing, proper referencing techniques, and critical thinking.

Our curriculum emphasises critical writing and research skills, ensuring students can meet their objectives.

Q: What aspects of the curriculum research and academic integrity, and how do they prepare students for further academic pursuits like a PhD?

Our curriculum also has a fair amount of research emphasis as well. We have research methodology, dissertation, and that actually ensures the students go on to do their PhD once they complete the MBA programme.
