HNB and IESL Partner to Deliver Exclusive Financial Benefits for Sri Lanka’s Engineering Professionals

Published on

Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) to provide exclusive financial solutions and benefits to the country’s engineering community. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 20 May 2026 at HNB Towers, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to delivering specialised banking services to key professional segments.

Through this collaboration, more than 25,000 IESL members across Sri Lanka will gain access to customised financial products, including pre-approved premium credit cards, pre-approved personal loans, and special concessions on a range of personal banking services. Eligible members will also have the opportunity to join HNB Priority Circle, the bank’s premium banking platform offering preferential banking privileges and tailored financial solutions.

Commenting on the partnership, HNB Chief Operating Officer Sanjay Wijemanne noted that engineers represent one of the country’s most professionally organised communities, yet their specific financial requirements have often remained underserved. He stated that the partnership enables HNB to offer products and services that align closely with the professional standing and career aspirations of engineers while creating long-term value for the segment.

IESL President Eng. Kosala Kamburadeniya welcomed the initiative, highlighting that access to quality financial services remains an important consideration for many engineers, particularly those at the early stages of their careers and independent practitioners. He emphasised that the partnership reflects IESL’s ongoing efforts to enhance member value through meaningful and practical benefits.

The collaboration forms part of HNB’s broader strategy of segment-led banking, strengthening relationships with professional associations and delivering tailored financial solutions that support career growth, financial wellbeing, and professional advancement across Sri Lanka’s engineering sector.
