Hayleys Fabric PLC, together with its subsidiary South Asia Textiles Ltd., has become Sri Lanka’s first fabric manufacturer to receive Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validation for its net-zero emissions goals. This milestone places the company among a select group of global businesses aligning operations with the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C climate pathway.
Hayleys Fabric aims to cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% and Scope 3 emissions by 25% by 2030, with a long-term commitment to achieving net-zero by 2050. This ambitious roadmap reflects the company’s leadership in sustainable manufacturing and commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.
CEO/Managing Director Rohan Goonetilleke emphasised the company’s role in driving meaningful change, integrating sustainability into core strategies.
