GRI Appoints Tharindu Atapattu as New CEO

GRI, a leading manufacturer of speciality tyres, has announced the appointment of Dr Tharindu Atapattu as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Dr Atapattu brings over 20 years of expertise in value-driven growth, corporate turnarounds, and financial strategy, having worked with Fortune 500 companies, major local businesses, and global firms.

An accomplished academic and industry leader, Dr Atapattu holds a First-Class Honours Degree in Engineering, an MBA in Finance, and a PhD in Marketing. He is also a Certified Global Business Analyst (CGBA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), NLP Business Practitioner, Certified Director, and Certified Leadership Coach.

Prior to joining GRI, he served as Director and CEO of Lanka Swisstek Pvt Ltd – India and Swisstek Aluminium Ltd. His leadership and contributions to the business world were recognised in 2024 when he was awarded the Top 50 Global CEO Leadership Excellence Award in Colombo.

GRI’s decision to appoint Dr Atapattu reflects the company’s commitment to strategic growth, innovation, and leadership excellence in the speciality tyre industry.
