First Capital Hosts 11th Colombo Investor Symposium

First Capital Holdings PLC, one of Sri Lanka’s most esteemed investment institutions, successfully hosted the 11th Edition of its Colombo Investor Symposium on 17th January at Cinnamon Grand, Colombo. The event attracted over 300 in-person attendees and 400 online participants, establishing itself as one of the largest and most influential investor gatherings in Sri Lanka.

The symposium focused on Sri Lanka’s Economic Outlook for 2025, offering in-depth analyses of market trends, strategic investment approaches, and emerging opportunities within the capital markets. The keynote address was delivered by Professor Anil Jayantha Fernando, Hon. Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Economic Development, who provided expert insights into the government’s initiatives, economic trajectory, and key factors expected to shape the market landscape in the coming year.

A distinguished panel discussion, moderated by Deshani Ratnayake, Vice President Corporate Finance at First Capital, featured industry leaders including Gihan Cooray (Deputy Chairman, John Keells Holdings), Hasitha Premaratne (Managing Director, Brandix), and Dimantha Mathew (Chief Research Officer, First Capital). The panel shared actionable strategies for navigating the evolving investment landscape.

Dilshan Wirasekara, CEO of First Capital, emphasised the company’s dedication to empowering investors through actionable insights and fostering collaboration to drive sustainable investment success. The symposium highlighted First Capital’s leadership in shaping Sri Lanka’s investment landscape.
