Dilhan C. Fernando, CEO and Chairperson of Dilmah, has been appointed as an Adjunct Professor of Practice in Sustainability at Edith Cowan University’s School of Business and Law (SBL).
Fernando, also managing Trustee of the MJF Foundation and Director of Dilmah Conservation, is recognised for driving innovation and sustainability in Sri Lankan produce.
He played a pivotal role in establishing Dilmah Conservation and Biodiversity Sri Lanka, fostering corporate engagement in biodiversity and conservation. ECU’s Executive Dean, Professor Maryam Omari, lauded Fernando’s commitment to ethical business practices and sustainability, noting the invaluable contribution he will make to students’ educational experiences.
Fernando’s appointment promises public lectures and a case study exploring Dilmah’s integration of kindness and sustainability into its operations. Fernando expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to share practical insights on ethical business practices, emphasizing the urgency for businesses to prioritise societal and environmental impact in today’s challenging landscape.
