Deep Tec Engineering (Pvt) Ltd has partnered with the Young Members Section of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka through the AgriTech Spark initiative to advance technology-driven agriculture in Sri Lanka.

The collaboration aims to connect young engineers, innovators and entrepreneurs with practical agricultural challenges, creating opportunities to develop solutions in solar irrigation, smart water management, renewable energy, automation, remote monitoring and data-driven farming.

Deep Tec, which has operated in the solar water pumping sector since 2017, is expanding its focus beyond conventional pumping systems by integrating smart irrigation, IoT technologies, automation and remote monitoring into agricultural applications.

Thilina Hettiarachchi, Founder and Managing Director of Deep Tec Engineering, said agriculture must become increasingly technology-driven to improve productivity, resource efficiency and resilience. He highlighted the importance of encouraging young engineers and entrepreneurs to view agriculture as an innovative sector offering opportunities to develop new technologies and businesses.

The partnership seeks to strengthen links between engineering expertise and the practical needs of Sri Lankan farmers.
