CSE Welcomes Vindhya Jayasekera as Its Next CEO

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has appointed Ms. Vindhya Jayasekera as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Designate, effective January 1, 2025. She will succeed Mr. Rajeeva Bandaranaike, who is set to retire in 2025 after an 11-year tenure.

Ms. Jayasekera brings over 20 years of experience in capital markets, with expertise in both investment banking and asset management. Prior to joining CSE, she served as Chief Investment Officer at NDB Wealth Management Limited, overseeing assets exceeding LKR 380 billion. Her leadership encompassed managing over LKR 100 billion in mutual fund assets across eight diverse funds, including investments in treasury bills, bonds, debentures, corporate debt, and equities.

Her career began at NDB Investment Bank, where she contributed to executing some of the largest initial public offerings (IPOs) in CSE’s history. Ms. Jayasekera is a CFA Charter holder, a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) accredited by the Global Association of Risk Professionals, and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA) with the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation.

A recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship, she earned a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, graduating with a medal for academic excellence. She also holds a First Class Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Moratuwa.

Ms. Jayasekera’s appointment is anticipated to bring a fresh perspective to the CSE, leveraging her extensive experience to further develop Sri Lanka’s capital market.
