CRIB Launches MyCRIB App and Honours Data Excellence at CEOs Forum and Institutional Rating Awards 2026

Published on

The Credit Information Bureau of Sri Lanka (CRIB) successfully hosted its Annual CEOs Forum and Institutional Rating Awards 2026 under the theme “Credit Intelligence for National Progress,” bringing together leaders from the financial services sector to discuss the future of credit intelligence, digital innovation and financial inclusion.

The event was graced by Central Bank of Sri Lanka Governor Dr Nandalal Weerasinghe as Chief Guest and attended by chief executive officers and senior leaders representing banks, non banking financial institutions, insurance companies, telecommunications providers and key utility organisations.

Addressing the forum, CRIB Chairman K.G.P. Sirikumara emphasised the importance of reliable, high quality data in supporting the transition from collateral based lending to sophisticated risk based credit evaluation. He noted that CRIB’s transformation into a multi sector data platform is enabling financial institutions to make faster and more responsible lending decisions while strengthening economic resilience.

A major highlight of the event was the official launch of the MyCRIB Mobile App, a landmark initiative designed to improve financial inclusion and credit literacy. The application provides citizens with secure, real time access to their credit profiles, credit scores and reports while enabling users to raise disputes, receive alerts, complete identity verification, share reports with authorised third parties and access educational resources.

Director and General Manager Pushpike Jayasundera described the launch as a significant milestone, noting that CRIB is now among the few credit bureaus globally to offer consumers such a comprehensive digital platform.

Delivering the keynote address, Chief Adviser to the President on Digital Economy Dr Hans Wijayasuriya highlighted how digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence are transforming traditional concepts of credit risk into trust based evaluation, creating greater opportunities for micro, small and medium enterprises and individual consumers.

The forum concluded with the presentation of the Institutional Rating Awards, recognising organisations that demonstrated excellence in data governance, data quality and regulatory compliance. The awards reinforce CRIB’s commitment to promoting trusted credit intelligence, responsible lending practices and a more resilient financial ecosystem in Sri Lanka.
