CMA Sri Lanka to Host National Management Accounting Conference 2026 at Cinnamon Life

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA Sri Lanka) will host the CMA Sri Lanka National Management Accounting Conference 2026 at Cinnamon Life, The Forum, Colombo, bringing together leading professionals, policymakers, academics and business leaders to examine the evolving role of management accounting in driving sustainable economic growth.

Held under the theme ‘Crisis, Stability, and Growth – A Management Accounting Lens,’ the conference will provide a platform for professional dialogue, knowledge sharing and strategic insights into strengthening organisational resilience and long term value creation.

The inaugural session will be graced by Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya as Chief Guest. CPA Australia President Prof. Dale Pinto will deliver the keynote address, while Canadian High Commissioner Isabelle Martin, South Asian Federation of Accountants President Mohammed Humayun Kabir, and cost and management accounting expert A. N. Raman will share international and regional perspectives on the future of the profession.

Welcoming participants, CMA Sri Lanka Founder and President Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala will highlight the growing importance of management accountants in supporting organisations through economic uncertainty while contributing to national development.

The conference will also feature technical sessions coordinated by Dr Sugeeth Patabendige, Head of the Department of Marketing Management at the University of Kelaniya, focusing on practical management accounting tools that help organisations manage crises, enhance stability and achieve sustainable growth.

A series of special recognitions, including the Golden Anniversary Awards, CMA Business Excellence Awards and Merit Awards for CMA Qualified Members, will honour outstanding professional achievements. The CMA Certified Management Accountant Journal will also be officially launched during the event, reinforcing the conference’s role as one of Sri Lanka’s premier professional gatherings for the accounting community.
