We interviewed Dr. Tharindu Atapattu, Chief Executive Officer of Swisstek Aluminium Ltd. Dr. Atapattu is a seasoned, multifaceted business turnaround professional, experienced and professionally qualified in Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, and Marketing. He has extensive industrial exposure, ranging from operational to strategic levels within both local and multinational corporate landscapes.

DOs:

1. Coach the team.
2. Speak last.
3. Keep the door open for everyone.
4. Visit the market and plant frequently.
5. Frequently communicate the vision to all levels.

DON’Ts:

1. Use authority before demonstrating leadership (avoid autocracy).
2. Hide the reality.
3. Engage in ad hominem attacks.
4. Practice ethical egoism.
5. Fall victim to the halo effect.
