The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka (CanCham SL) will lead a delegation of 40 business representatives to Canada from 18 October to 1 November 2026, promoting investment, trade and tourism partnerships.
The Business Promotion Mission will visit Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. Participants include the Chamber’s founder board directors and representatives of member companies, including Colombo Port City and Home Lands Skyline Ltd.
Founder and Board Member Priyantha Chandrasekara said the initiative would connect businesses, investors, professional networks and institutions, opening opportunities for collaboration and strengthening commercial relations between the two countries.
In Vancouver, discussions will cover real estate, education, tourism, healthcare, agricultural technology, green housing and financial services. Toronto engagements will involve investment and trade stakeholders, with a press conference scheduled for 27 October.
In Ottawa, the delegation will meet prospective partners in collaboration with the Sri Lankan High Commission. Meetings with business communities and chambers, alongside a parliamentary visit, are planned.
Founder and Board Member Mohamed Hameez highlighted Sri Lanka’s potential as a gateway for Canadian businesses seeking access to the wider Indo-Pacific region, while Canadian investment and expertise could support opportunities locally.
The delegation will attend the International Travel and Tourism Show at the Palais des congrès de Montréal from 30 October to 1 November, showcasing Sri Lanka’s tourism offering.
Investment presentations will span hospitality, logistics, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, electric mobility, technology, renewable energy and aviation. The programme aims to translate business engagement into practical partnerships supporting both countries’ economic objectives and stronger bilateral commercial cooperation.
