BMW Partners Melstacorp to Steer Sri Lanka’s Premium Auto Market

Melstacorp PLC has announced a landmark partnership as its fully owned subsidiary, Mels Automobiles Ltd., is appointed the authorised importer and dealer for BMW vehicles in Sri Lanka. Chairman Hasitha Jayawardena described the move as a defining milestone, aligning the Group with BMW’s global standards of innovation and customer experience.

BMW Group Asia Managing Director Rene Gerhard affirmed Sri Lanka’s importance as a premium mobility market, signalling long-term growth ambitions. CEO Anushka Polonowita emphasised a commitment to service excellence and brand stewardship.

During the transition, Prestige Automobiles Ltd. will continue supporting customers to ensure seamless continuity.
