The Association of Public Finance Accountants of Sri Lanka successfully held its 14th Annual General Meeting on 31 March 2026 at the Auditorium of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, with over 100 members in attendance.

The event brought together key dignitaries, including outgoing President V. Kanagasabapathy and newly inducted President K. V. C. Dilrukshi, alongside CA Sri Lanka President Tishan Subasinghe. Proceedings commenced with the adoption of the previous AGM minutes, followed by reflections on strengthened collaboration between APFASL and CA Sri Lanka to enhance public financial management.

Members unanimously approved the audited financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2025. While a surplus was recorded, it declined year-on-year due to higher administrative costs and reduced finance income. Nevertheless, the Association maintained financial stability, with increased assets and improved liquidity.

A highlight of the AGM was the formal induction of Dilrukshi as President. A Fellow Chartered Accountant with over two decades of experience, she currently serves at the General Treasury. Kanagasabapathy was commended for his longstanding contributions.

The AGM reaffirmed APFASL’s commitment to advancing accrual-based public sector accounting in line with global standards.
