Anura Karunathilaka Appointed as Energy Minister

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed Anura Karunathilaka as the new Energy Minister.

Karunathilaka was sworn in before the President at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday. He will continue to hold his existing portfolio as Ports and Civil Aviation Minister alongside the Energy Ministry. The appointment comes at a critical time for Sri Lanka’s energy sector, with a focus on ensuring stability, transparency, and continuity in policy direction.
