Published on

The Executive Director of the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA), C. Ramakrishna, visited Sri Lanka as part of a programme of engagements with Deans and Heads of leading universities, facilitated by the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM).

During his visit, Ramakrishna also called on Global CEO Magazine, where he participated in the magazine’s Leadership Dialogue series. He shared his perspectives on leadership, management education, institutional collaboration, and the evolving role of higher education in developing future business and public sector leaders across South Asia.

The discussion was conducted with Dr Samantha Rathnayake, Senior Lecturer at the Postgraduate Institute of Management, and explored emerging trends in management education, regional academic partnerships, leadership development, and the importance of strengthening collaboration among higher education institutions.

AMDISA plays a significant role in promoting excellence in management education, research, institutional capacity building, and knowledge exchange across South Asia. Through its network of universities, business schools, and management development institutions, the organisation continues to encourage innovation, academic excellence, and regional cooperation.

Ramakrishna’s visit to Sri Lanka provided an opportunity to strengthen ties between AMDISA and Sri Lankan universities while fostering dialogue on the future of management education in an increasingly interconnected global economy.

The visit also highlighted the importance of collaboration between academia, industry, and leadership platforms in developing globally competitive professionals capable of addressing contemporary economic and organisational challenges. Such engagements contribute to advancing leadership excellence, enhancing academic standards, and promoting knowledge sharing across South Asia, reinforcing Sri Lanka’s growing role in regional management education and professional development.
