CEOWORLD Magazine reports that Mukesh Ambani, the wealthiest individual in Asia and India, has once again achieved centi-billionaire status.
His net worth surged by $6.46 billion, hitting $103 billion, following a record-high increase in shares of his flagship company, Reliance Industries Ltd. As Reliance’s chairman, Ambani holds a 42% stake in the conglomerate, spanning diverse sectors such as energy, telecommunications, and retail.
Ranked as the 12th-richest person globally, Ambani, 66, played a pivotal role in establishing Reliance as India’s largest company by market value. Notably, last year, his eldest son, Akash, assumed the chairmanship of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd., while younger son Anant oversees the group’s renewable energy sector. Isha, Ambani’s daughter and a Yale University graduate, manages the group’s retail business. All three were appointed to Reliance’s board in August last year.
Ambani is among the 12 individuals worldwide in the exclusive $100 billion club, sharing the elite group with names like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos. Elon Musk, the world’s richest individual, stands out with a net worth exceeding $200 billion.
