ADB Appoints Shannon Cowlin as New Country Director for Sri Lanka

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has appointed Shannon Cowlin as its new Country Director for Sri Lanka, effective 9 February 2026. Based in Colombo, she will lead ADB’s engagement in supporting the country’s economic recovery and long-term development agenda.

Ms. Cowlin brings over 26 years of professional experience, including 13 years with ADB, with expertise in energy, climate, environment, public health, and sustainable development. She previously served as Country Director of ADB’s Mongolia Resident Mission, leading strategic and operational initiatives since 2023.

Expressing her commitment, Ms. Cowlin reaffirmed ADB’s continued partnership with the Government and stakeholders to strengthen resilience, promote inclusive growth, and create new opportunities for Sri Lanka’s people.
