Airtel Aims for Record-Breaking Internet Speeds with Satellite Connectivity

In a fresh competition with Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, led by Sunil Mittal, aims to enhance internet connectivity across India using satellite technology.

As reported by Joy Pillai for India.com, Mittal described satellite internet as a “magic bullet” for connecting underserved regions, including remote and coastal areas lacking traditional network coverage. Highlighting the potential, Mittal noted that 2 billion people globally lack internet access, with similar connectivity gaps in India, where around a quarter of the terrain faces poor connectivity and 5% of people remain offline. The satellite network could bridge these gaps and transform digital access across India.
