iPhone 16 Sales Fall Short of Expectations, Reports CNN

Published on

The iPhone 16’s sales have fallen short of Apple’s expectations, despite the company promoting new artificial intelligence (AI) features as key upgrades.

As reported by Clare Duffy for CNN, pre-sale estimates reveal a lackluster consumer response, with just 37 to 40 million units sold in the first weekend, marking a year-over-year decline of over 12%. Analysts, including Ming-Chi Kuo and Dan Ives, reported weaker demand, especially for the higher-priced iPhone 16 Pro models.

Apple, which had hoped for a sales boost after years of sluggish performance, now faces challenges as consumers seem more inclined towards the lower-priced iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. This shift in demand could potentially affect Apple’s average selling price and overall revenue, raising concerns over the iPhone 16’s ability to meet expectations.
