We interviewed Dr. Tharindu Atapattu, Chief Executive Officer of Swisstek Aluminium Ltd. Dr. Atapattu is a seasoned, multifaceted business turnaround professional, experienced and professionally qualified in Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, and Marketing. DOs:

1. Coach the team.
2. Speak last.
3. Keep the door open for everyone.
4. Visit the market and plant frequently.
5. Frequently communicate the vision to all levels.

DON’Ts:

1. Use authority before demonstrating leadership (avoid autocracy).
2. Hide the reality.
3. Engage in ad hominem attacks.
4. Practice ethical egoism.
5. Fall victim to the halo effect.
