Published on

Disney is investigating a reported leak of internal messages by the hacking group Nullbulge, which claims to be “protecting artists’ rights,” state Lycer Hooker and Joe Tidy in a BBC News report.

Nullbulge states it accessed thousands of Disney employee communications and downloaded extensive files, including details about upcoming projects. The group, targeting those who use AI-generated content, describes this practice as “theft.” They allege their access was gained through an insider in Disney’s Slack messaging system. However, the hackers have not provided proof of the data’s authenticity. Nullbulge, identifying as Russian hacktivists, criticized Disney for its handling of artist contracts and AI, but they don’t expect Disney to comply with their demands to stop using AI.
