Emirates, in a reaffirmation of its dedication to promoting Sri Lanka’s tourism, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau at the Arabian Travel Market 2024 in Dubai.

The agreement aims to bolster tourism by developing special packages and conducting familiarisation trips from key feeder markets. With more than 1.4 million tourist arrivals recorded in 2023, Emirates, operating in Sri Lanka for 38 years, has been pivotal in transporting visitors to the island. Through joint collaborations, Emirates plans to showcase Sri Lanka’s offerings to global customers.

Ahmed Khoory, Emirates’ Senior Vice President, highlighted the airline’s special relationship with Sri Lanka and its commitment to promoting the country as a leisure destination. Chalaka Gajabahu, Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, expressed delight in collaborating with Emirates, citing its connectivity to key markets.

As part of its extensive network spanning over 130 destinations, Emirates provides two direct daily flights to Colombo, offering passengers world-class products and superior comfort.
