The Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL) has introduced the Sri Lanka Tourism Excellence Awards 2026, with the ceremony scheduled for 26 January 2027 in Colombo.
The national initiative will recognise achievement, innovation and service excellence across tourism and hospitality, encouraging responsible practices that support the sector’s development.
Guided by the theme “Celebrating Excellence, Inspiring Innovation, and Shaping the Future of Tourism”, the programme centres on sustainability, hospitality and excellence.
Organisations registered with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and operating locally for at least three years are eligible. Entries will be grouped into six categories, ranging from Micro to Extra-Large.
Assessment will involve documentary evaluation, on-site verification and final deliberations by an independent panel of judges. Seven assessment dimensions cover service, guest experiences, innovation, sustainability, operational performance, leadership and industry impact.
More than 70 accolades will be presented, including overall Gold, Silver and Bronze distinctions, alongside recognition for specific criteria and sectors.
Recipients will receive three-year rights to use the official awards emblem, permanent inclusion in a virtual Hall of Fame, publication coverage and opportunities to share best practices internationally.
THASL is inviting eligible enterprises to apply, showcasing their achievements while identifying opportunities to strengthen standards across the industry.
